I’ve been feeling a little horrible today so I’ve treated myself.. to…

a 140CM Hermes Cashmere & Silk mix scarf!

I’m a v. happy girl!

So, as you may know, a few weeks ago myself & the boy headed off to chase the sun in Alvor Bay, Portugal.

It’s a sleepy little town; there are hundreds of local restaurants selling freshly-caught fish at ridiculously low prices, little gelato shops and souvenir stalls. We ate three course meals every night with sangria and churros for after (you MUST try them, they’re little deep-fried tubes of heaven) for between 30-35 euros and the food was WONDERFUL!

Despite our love for fish, we dragged ourselves to the local steakhouse one night and had one of the best steaks I have eaten in my LIFE! We’re big fans of the Crazy Bear Hotel group (especially Beaconsfield as it’s our closest…) and the chargrilled steak became an instant rival for top-spot in my heart.

One happy boy…

& an equally happy girl..

We didn’t spend as long on the beach as I would’ve liked (I’m too pasty for that..) but the time we did spend was GORGEOUS; caves divided the bay up into individual little mini-beaches so we were never crowded and the hidden paths and tunnels left me feeling like a pirate explorer..

My favourite little bay..

Look how high we are!

After days of moaning I finally dragged Greg up the (arguably dodgy) cliff path for further exploration - and an ariel view of the many beaches around..It’d be great if you had your own boat and could explore these little alcoves, but I’d probably save that for August as the sea was REALLY chilly!

We spent a while by the pool, too..

On the final day - which happened to be our anniversary - we headed to a nearby water park for grown-up fun and games..

To celebrate our final night, we headed to a fancy restaurant on the cliff and watched the sunset together. Aww.

I’m looking a little serious here.. (Dress: All Saints)

And here..

We finished the holiday at the cocktail bar where we’d eaten our first meal in Portugal, and I asked them very nicely to make me a fresh fruit cocktail. Here’s the result:

Let’s just say I left one happy girl..
